To encourage edgy software developers to build apps for Parabon’s Frontier grid computing platform, I suggested the “Whupp Ass” motif. This quickly conveyed the massive power of grid computing while appealing to the core audience.

The campaign debuted at JavaOne and created one of the bigger buzzes on the floor. For the nominal cost of some canned goods, T-shirts, and two-color brochures, we were able to get the software developers kit into the hands of folks who could build apps for it.
